Q85: How to maintain enrollment in the Fast-track Programmes?

Students are required to maintain a CGPA of 3.30 or above by the end of Semester 2 each year unless a Summer Term study is mandatory for all students of the programme.

If a student is unable to maintain the required CGPA or withdraws from his/her Fast-track Programme, he/she may not be permitted to transfer the credits earned from the Level 5 Master’s degree subjects taken during their undergraduate studies to any other programmes, including the Master’s degree programme within their original Fast-track Programme at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This is due to current regulations governing credit transfer, which state that transferred credits may not normally be counted towards more than one degree, unless they are “extra” credits taken in addition to the previous award. In such cases, students should consult the programme offering Department of the Master’s degree programme for advice.
